On December 16, 2025, the Organizing Committee of the China Information Technology Expo (CITE) held a press conference in Shenzhen, announcing that the 14th China Information Technology Expo (CITE 2026) will take place from April 9 to 11, 2026, in the city. The committee also released updates on the expo’s preparation progress to all sectors of society. With the theme of “New Technologies, New Products, New Scenarios”, this year’s expo adheres to the concept of openness and cooperation, aiming to build a high-end exhibition platform covering the entire global electronic information industry chain. It is designed to promote technological innovation and industrial integration, advance the high-quality development of China’s electronic information industry, and comprehensively showcase cutting-edge industrial achievements and future development trends.

Shenzhen’s Electronic Information Industry Leads the Global Technological Innovation Wave

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is rising rapidly amid the global tide of technological competition and industrial chain restructuring, driven by unprecedented innovation vitality and industrial aggregation advantages. It is steadily advancing toward building a world-class international science and technology innovation hub. As the core engine of the Greater Bay Area’s development, Shenzhen achieved a remarkable output value of 574.19 billion yuan in its next-generation electronic information industry in 2024. Among its sub-sectors, the semiconductor and integrated circuit industry led in growth rate, while the artificial intelligence industry recorded an annual output value of 74.75 billion yuan.

Shenzhen is not only a hub for world-class tech enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent, BYD, ZTE, and DJI, but also home to a comprehensive industrial ecosystem spanning chip design, manufacturing and packaging/testing, terminal equipment, and internet applications.

Meanwhile, as a bellwether and launch platform for cutting-edge technologies, the China Information Technology Expo continues to drive breakthroughs in innovative technologies and their industrial application. Here, frontier technologies define industrial rules, cutting-edge products reshape life experiences, and the integration of diverse scenarios paints a picture of a smart ecosystem. The expo is more than a showcase of achievements—it builds connections: facilitating the transformation of technologies into products, empowering diverse scenarios with these products, and helping turn these scenarios into reality.

Eight Highlight Areas Focus on Cutting-Edge Industry Trends

At the press conference, Chen Wenhai, Secretary-General of the CITE Organizing Committee, unveiled the new highlights and preparation progress of CITE 2026 in a focused presentation.

Rooted in the Greater Bay Area, the 14th China Information Technology Expo will set up eight specialized exhibition areas, namely: Consumer Electronics, Embodied Intelligence, AI Large Models/Intelligent Computing Centers, AI+ Application Scenarios, Integrated Circuits, Low-Altitude Economy, Electronic Components, and Special Electronics & Dual-Use Electronic Technologies. Together, these areas will systematically present the entire industrial chain innovation, from smart terminals and artificial intelligence, to low-altitude economy and semiconductor fundamentals.

Consumer Electronics Exhibition Area will focus on the AI-driven trend of personalization and intelligence, showcasing innovative products such as foldable smartphones, AI-enabled phones, whole-house smart systems, health wearables, and new payment terminals, to provide insights into the trillion-yuan-scale market consumption trends.

Embodied Intelligence Exhibition Area will respond to the national strategic status of embodied intelligence, which was written into the 2025 Report on the Work of the State Council. It will feature cutting-edge achievements including humanoid robots, quadruped robots, industrial/service robots, AGVs, robotic arms, Automatic Circlip Feeding Systems that boost assembly efficiency and precision in electronic components and automotive parts manufacturing, and virtual digital humans, demonstrating the enormous potential of intelligent agents interacting with the physical world.

AI Large Models/Intelligent Computing Centers Exhibition Area will focus on the cornerstone of computing power, displaying key segments such as servers/storage, edge computing, intelligent computing centers, liquid cooling technologies (immersive and cold plate types), and computing power operation and maintenance, supporting the full-stack needs of artificial intelligence from model training to large-scale application.

AI+ Application Scenarios Exhibition Area will thoroughly implement the “Artificial Intelligence +” initiative, comprehensively presenting the in-depth integration and innovative applications of AI in vertical sectors such as finance, healthcare, education, toys, driving, security, and smart glasses, witnessing the vivid practice of AI empowering thousands of industries.

Integrated Circuit Application Exhibition Area will revolve around “quality leapfrogging” and domestic substitution, showcasing key products such as AI chips, memory chips, analog/RF/power management chips, and highlighting the collaborative innovation of the RISC-V architecture and OpenHarmony ecosystem, demonstrating the breakthroughs and determination to achieve industrial chain independence and controllability.

                    Press Conference

Low-Altitude Economy Exhibition Area will prominently feature eVTOLs (electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft), various types of UAVs, detection equipment, flight simulators, and industry solutions, highlighting Shenzhen’s leading strength as an industrial highland in urban air mobility, logistics and distribution, emergency rescue, and other fields.

Electronic Components Exhibition Area will widely display upstream key products such as passive components, connectors, sensors, core components of semiconductor equipment, and discrete devices, meeting the strong demand for high-performance basic components in sectors such as communications, automotive, industrial control, and AI.

Special Electronics & Dual-Use Electronic Technologies Exhibition Area will serve national strategies and high-end manufacturing, gathering major military-industrial groups, research institutes, and tech enterprises to showcase special integrated circuits, high-end basic components, electronic process materials, testing equipment, and intelligent unmanned systems, promoting the collaborative innovation and integrated development of military and civilian technologies.

“2+8+N” Series of Events Empower the Future with Intelligence

In addition to exhibitions, CITE 2026 will launch a high-end event matrix of “2+8+N” running throughout the expo period.

The “2” core events include the opening theme forum, which will bring together academicians, experts, and industry leaders to discuss cutting-edge trends; and the highly anticipated CITE Innovation Award and Gold Award selection, which continues to set benchmarks for technological innovation in the industry.

The “8” in-depth forums for vertical sectors will host a series of professional forums centered on the eight exhibition themes, conducting discussions on frontier technologies, policy interpretations, and case sharing to promote in-depth exchanges in specialized fields.

The “N” supplementary activities will include over 50 conferences, seminars, and overseas buyer procurement matching events. By deepening cooperation with overseas embassies and consulates, and commercial associations, and adopting a “category-based procurement matching” model, the expo will build an efficient and precise business bridge between exhibitors and high-quality global buyers. The previous edition successfully facilitated 150 matching sessions, achieving remarkable results.

Notably, concurrent with the 14th China Information Technology Expo (CITE 2026), the “Conference on Large-Scale Transformation of Manufacturing Empowered by Artificial Intelligence” will be held for the first time. China Electronics Corporation, China Coal Information Technology Co., Ltd., as well as central enterprises and leading enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, will all attend the conference. They will conduct in-depth discussions on how to systematically transform “lighthouse factory experiences” into replicable “galaxy ecosystems”, illuminating a brand-new future for industrial upgrading in the Greater Bay Area with the light of intelligence.
