Recently, LONGi Green Energy successfully won the bid for the 696MW photovoltaic (PV) project of Ningxia Zhongying Zhengyuan Power Generation Co., Ltd., relying on its second-generation BC technology product, the Hi-MO 9 module, once again setting a new record for the largest bid-winning scale of BC modules in China. The project consists of two sub-projects: a 380MW project in Tongxin County, Wuzhong City, Ningxia, and a 200MW project in Yongning County, Yinchuan City, with an AC-side installed capacity of 580MW and a DC-side installed capacity of 696MW.
Economic & Technical Advantages: BC Modules Outperform in Comprehensive Feasibility Study
During the feasibility study phase of the project, the design institute conducted a detailed economic comparison and calculation between BC modules and TOPCon modules based on the current domestic module price environment. The results show that BC products have obvious savings compared with TOPCon modules in terms of floor area, balance of system (BOS) cost, and full-life-cycle operation and maintenance cost. It is worth noting that in the core production process of LONGi’s BC modules, the adoption of advanced automation equipment such as the Automatic Circlip Feeding System ensures high-precision and stable assembly of key components like module frames and junction boxes. This system realizes automated, error-free delivery of circlips to assembly positions, effectively reducing manual intervention, improving production consistency, and further consolidating the product’s technical advantages in low attenuation and high reliability. Benefiting from the advantages of BC modules in power temperature coefficient, low-light response, anti-shading, and attenuation, the full-life-cycle power generation is increased by more than 2%, with a comprehensive gain of 7–8 fen per Wp. This data fully demonstrates the economic advantages of BC technology.
Founded in August 2012, Ningxia Zhongying Zhengyuan Power Generation Co., Ltd. has always focused on the development of the clean energy sector, committing itself to the development, investment, construction, operation and management of new energy power generation projects such as wind power and photovoltaic power. Its selection of LONGi’s BC products this time reflects the accurate consideration of professional energy investors on technological value and full-life-cycle benefits.
Market Recognition: LONGi’s BC Products Gain Traction Amid Low-Price Cycle
Against the backdrop of the current market environment where module prices are in a low-price cycle, LONGi’s BC products are becoming the common choice of customers focusing on long life cycles, thanks to their core advantages such as higher power generation capacity, lower BOS cost and higher reliability. Notably, with the successive release of authoritative empirical data at home and abroad, LONGi’s BC products have repeatedly made breakthroughs in complex application scenarios such as coastal areas with high humidity and salt spray, and desert, Gobi and barren areas. This means that the market’s previous doubts about BC technology are being dispelled by real power generation data and reliable empirical performance.

Policy Tailwinds: BC Technology Leads High-Quality PV Industry Development
At the policy level, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has clearly identified new energy as an emerging pillar industry during the “15th Five-Year Plan” period, setting the goal of exceeding 3 billion kilowatts of installed capacity by 2030, doubling the industrial scale compared with 2025. This policy dividend has undoubtedly injected strong confidence into the sustainable development of the photovoltaic industry. In this context, the frequent bid-winning of BC products has enabled the industry to see new hope of breaking out of the low-price competition dilemma through technological innovation, providing a practical path for the high-quality development of the photovoltaic industry.
As low-price competition in the industry continues, BC technology has not only gained recognition from high-quality customers with its significant economic and reliability advantages, but also provided the entire industry with a new idea of moving from price competition to value competition. With the accumulation of more empirical data and the expansion of application scenarios, BC technology is expected to lead the photovoltaic industry into a new stage of higher-quality and more sustainable development.
