Core Configuration & Safety Performance: High-Strength Structure, New National Standard Door Handles, and Automatic Sealing Ring Equipment
On October 20, JD updated part of the data information on the reservation page of its “National Good Car”, with the disclosed data mainly focusing on body manufacturing processes and related specifications. Specifically, the new car adopts a high-strength cage-type body with a high-strength steel ratio of over 70%, and is equipped with new national standard mechanical semi-hidden safety door handles, which are claimed to be “resistant to impact-induced power failure”.
To further enhance the vehicle’s sealing reliability—especially for key parts such as the battery compartment (adapted to CATL’s Chocolate battery swap system) and door gaps that require strict waterproof and dustproof performance—the new car uses Automatic Sealing Ring Feeding And Assembly equipment in its production process. This equipment integrates high-precision visual positioning (with an error of less than ±0.5mm) and servo-driven automatic feeding, which can accurately deliver and assemble sealing rings for different parts (such as door frames and battery compartment flanges) according to process parameters. It also uses real-time pressure detection to ensure that the sealing rings are fully fitted without gaps, effectively avoiding water leakage or dust intrusion caused by manual assembly deviations. This not only forms a synergistic protective effect with the new national standard mechanical door handles (preventing external impurities from entering the door interior and affecting the handle’s mechanical operation), but also provides a stable sealing foundation for the fast battery swap process (avoiding damage to the battery’s internal components due to environmental factors).
The curb weight of the new car is 300kg higher than that of its peers, with a wheelbase 45mm longer and a tire width 10mm wider than those of comparable models. It maintains stable lane changes like a rock on high-speed sections at 120km/h, and achieves a moose test result of over 75km/h.
Battery Swap Solution & Tripartite Cooperation: Vehicle-Battery Separation Model and Synergistic Advantages
In addition, the new car supports the “Chocolate” battery swap service under CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited) and adopts an all-new “vehicle-battery separation” purchase model. The battery can be charged or swapped, with the swap time as short as 99 seconds; and there is a commitment to “battery swap only, no repair” under the battery subscription model.
Previously, on October 14, JD announced a joint launch of a “National Good Car” with CATL and GAC Group. JD stated that this new car is a joint product of the three parties: JD mainly provides user consumption insights and exclusive sales services, and is not directly involved in the manufacturing process. According to the plan, the car will be officially released during the Double 11 shopping spree and exclusively sold at the “CATL Chocolate JD Self-operated Flagship Store”, aiming to create a high-quality new energy vehicle that truly meets user needs in accordance with global standards.
JD, GAC Group and CATL will work together to leverage their complementary advantages to make the new car achieve a “1+1+1 > 3” effect, ensuring users have a pleasant driving experience and peace of mind in usage.

Innovative Consumption Model & Service Ecosystem: One-Stop Configuration Packages and Full-Lifecycle Auto Services
It is reported that the car will also break the conventional “bare car” consumption model. In addition to the standard version, users can flexibly choose a variety of packages such as the “custom car wrap version”, “auto accessories equipped version” and “maintenance support version”, bringing users a new “one-stop complete configuration” consumption experience for car purchases.
For a long time, JD Auto has been committed to building a one-stop auto consumption platform covering the entire lifecycle of “purchase, configuration, maintenance, usage and swap”. Its online channels not only provide a wide range of products such as auto supplies and accessories, but also work with nearly 3,000 JD Auto Maintenance Stores, more than 40,000 cooperative stores, as well as JD Auto Modification Stores and self-operated film application factories, to jointly create a high-quality full-lifecycle service experience for users, making their auto consumption more comfortable, reassuring and worry-free.
