First Batch of ABB Robots Awarded CR Certification
Recently, ABB Robotics and Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SEARI”) held the first certification award ceremony for the CR certification of ABB’s full range of robot products in Shanghai. ABB Robotics’ IRB 1520, IRB 1600 and IRB 1660 industrial robot series, as well as the PoWa collaborative robot series, have successfully passed the CR conformity certification, marking the first key milestone of the strategic cooperation between the two parties since last year.
This is not only another testament to ABB Robotics’ commitment to deeply rooting in the Chinese market for the long term, but also an important demonstration of its in-depth participation in the construction of China’s robot industry ecosystem with its global technological expertise.
The first batch of ABB Robotics products obtaining CR certification is a crucial milestone in the continuous advancement of our “Leading the Future” localization strategy. It is both an authoritative recognition of the safety, reliability and high quality of our products, and a strong testament to our active integration into China’s industrial system and further alignment with the needs of local customers. Going forward, we will continue to join hands with SEARI to conduct in-depth collaboration in product certification expansion, forward-looking standard discussions, and generic technology research, jointly build a more sound industrial ecosystem, and boost the transformation and upgrading of China’s intelligent manufacturing.

ABB Robotics is advancing the CR certification for its full range of products, and it is expected to achieve full coverage of CR certification for more than 120 product models this year.
Relying on its globally collaborative R&D platform and unified quality management system, ABB Robotics products have simultaneously complied with the certification standards of major international markets such as China’s CR, the EU’s CE and the US’s UL. In addition, as a member of the expert group, ABB Robotics has participated in the revision of the CR Certification Implementation Rules for Industrial Robots, the project approval and review of a number of group standards in the robot field, as well as discussions on cutting-edge technologies in areas such as EMC certification for industrial robots.
