Forum Overview: Time, Venue and Core Objectives
On November 26, 2025, during the 2025 China 5G Development Conference, the 5G + Embodied Intelligence Development Forum was held in Hefei, Anhui Province. Co-hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and Datang Mobile Communications Equipment Co., Ltd., the forum was undertaken by the 5G Application Industry Alliance. It aimed to promote the integrated innovation of 5G and embodied intelligence technologies and applications, give full play to 5G’s role as a “catalyst” in new-quality productive forces, continuously advance the “Artificial Intelligence +” initiative, and expand the large-scale application of 5G.
Keynote Speech: Industrial Advantages and Development Suggestions
Xu Heyuan, Chief Expert of CAICT, attended the forum and delivered a speech. He stated that China boasts a complete range of industrial categories, which provides a full-chain supply chain guarantee for embodied intelligence from core components to terminal products, and has spawned massive application demands in scenarios such as intelligent manufacturing, logistics and distribution, medical care, and household services. China’s 5G network coverage leads the world, and the scale of its computing power infrastructure ranks among the top globally. This provides strong computing power support for intelligent interaction in complex environments, enables deep resonance with the technological iteration of embodied intelligence, breaks through the limitations of standalone intelligence, and drives the industry towards networking and collaboration. To further activate the multiplier effect of the two-way promotion between 5G and embodied intelligence, and vigorously facilitate a sound start for the networked embodied intelligence industry, he suggested steadily and orderly advancing the high-quality development of the networked embodied intelligence industry from three aspects: key technology research and development, standardization work promotion, and scenario demonstration and application.
Multi-Stakeholder Exchanges: Cutting-Edge Achievements and Practices
This forum brought together experts and scholars from the industry, academia, research institutions, and end-users in China’s embodied intelligence and communications fields. Centering on the in-depth integration of 5G and embodied intelligence, they shared cutting-edge viewpoints and practical achievements, explored new models, new paths, and new opportunities, and contributed to industrial integration and innovative development. Experts from China Unicom Digital Technology Co., Ltd., China Mobile Research Institute, and CTwing IoT Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the basic telecom operators’ technological research and standard formulation, product and capability layout, and application innovation practices in the field of 5G + embodied intelligence; experts from CAICT shared research results on the development trends, key technologies, deployment architectures, and industrial cultivation of networked embodied intelligence; experts from Huawei and Datang Mobile presented the research and application exploration of 5G/5G-Advanced + embodied intelligence terminal-network collaboration; experts from Zhiyuan and Magic Atom shared the solutions and application practices of embodied intelligence robot manufacturers in the field of 5G + embodied intelligence.
Focusing on the integrated application of 5G + embodied intelligence, with cross-industry deep integration as the priority, this forum discussed the key technologies and typical application scenarios of 5G + embodied intelligence integration, promoted exchanges and mutual learning among various industrial stakeholders, provided an open communication platform for industry decision-makers, technical experts, and practitioners, and played a positive role in facilitating enterprise exchanges and cooperation, building consensus on industrial development, and constructing an independent industrial ecosystem.
