【Expo】Innovation Centers Gather at the 2025 World Robot Expo

  Guide: The 2025 World Robot Expo will be held at the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone from August 8th to 12th. This expo will gather domestic embodied intelligence/humanoid robot innovation centers to showcase their cutting-edge technological achievements, innovative products, and industry solutions.

The 2025 World Robot Expo will take place at the Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone from August 8th to 12th. It will feature three major pavilions: the Innovation Pavilion, Application Pavilion, and Technology Pavilion, highlighting themes such as technological innovation, new product launches, application scenarios, and international cooperation. Over 200 top domestic and foreign enterprises will participate.

As important carriers of robot technology innovation, innovation centers provide crucial support for industrial development by accelerating innovation agglomeration, breaking through technological R&D, and promoting scenario-based application implementation. This expo will gather domestic embodied intelligence/humanoid robot innovation centers to collectively display their cutting-edge technological achievements, innovative products, and industry solutions. National and Local Co-constructed Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center

(Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center)

Established in November 2023, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center was officially accredited as the National and Local Co-constructed Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center in October 2024. It is China’s first innovation center focusing on core technologies, product R&D, and application ecosystem construction of embodied intelligence robots. Centered on two core tasks—the general robot platform “Tiangong” and the general embodied intelligence platform “Huisi Kaiwu,” it is committed to building a globally influential source of embodied intelligence innovation and a highland for application demonstrations.

“Tiangong 2.0”

“Tiangong 2.0” has upgraded from “the best runner” to “the most practical.” Equipped with a dual-battery quick-swap system, it breaks through hot-swappable battery replacement for live equipment, achieving the first industrial-grade robot’s continuous operation capability. Combined with multi-working-condition energy consumption control technology, it boasts far superior battery life compared to previous generations, with comprehensive energy efficiency indicators reaching an internationally leading level. In terms of operational performance, “Tiangong 2.0” features industrial-grade upper limb load capacity, larger steady-state load at the end of its 双臂,and millimeter-level dynamic operation accuracy. Its fully flexible lower limb system breaks through the movement limitations of traditional robots, laying a technical foundation for operations in complex scenarios. In terms of computing power, its end-side intelligent computing platform leads the world, providing core computing support for real-time intelligent decision-making. It will be widely applied in industrial manufacturing, logistics sorting, special operations, commercial services, and other scenarios in the future.

National and Local Co-constructed Humanoid Robot Innovation Center

The National and Local Co-constructed Humanoid Robot Innovation Center is a new-type R&D institution established by leading industry enterprises. Focusing on key common technologies in humanoid robots, it aims to build a national leading and world-class innovation platform. To strengthen its industrial leadership and accelerate the ecological construction and industrial achievement transformation of humanoid robots, the center adheres to five functional orientations: “innovative technology R&D, public incubation platform, innovative talent training, innovative core think tank, and industrial public services.” It continuously promotes technological innovation, advocates open-source sharing, and “nurtures like gentle rain” to inject vitality into industrial development.

“Qinglong (Green Dragon)”

The Qinglong humanoid robot is the world’s first full-size open-source public-version humanoid robot independently developed by the National and Local Co-constructed Humanoid Robot Innovation Center. It features autonomous navigation and human-like gait movement capabilities. Through dynamic waist rotation combined with multi-modal visual recognition, it can achieve precise grasping and flexible operation of different materials. Meanwhile, the system is specially optimized for scenarios, enhancing grasping generalization and operational efficiency, fully demonstrating the innovative breakthroughs of embodied intelligence in complex practical applications.

Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center

Founded on December 21, 2023, the Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center is jointly built by the Ningbo Municipal People’s Government and Professor Xiong Rong’s team. With the mission of “liberating human productivity and transforming production and lifestyle,” the center aims to build a major high-energy innovation platform. It focuses on researching intelligent sensing and control technologies for humanoid robots and developing complete machine systems, striving to create a comprehensive innovation platform integrating humanoid robot technology R&D, achievement transformation, talent training, industrial development, and industrial radiation. It is committed to becoming a leader in the field of humanoid robots!

“Navigator 2 号 NAVIAI”

“Navigator 2 NAVIAI” is China’s first full-size, full-degree-of-freedom, full-functional (motion, movement, operation) humanoid robot with precise operation capabilities. It possesses human-like flexible movement abilities, capable of stable walking and flexible operations. Not only is its appearance more refined, but it can also be applied in more complex household and industrial scenarios to achieve efficient and high-precision control. At this expo, the new NAVIAI will showcase more industry solutions, including those for the retail and apparel industries. The retail industry solution centers on “people” to build a new offline scenario interaction model, providing out-of-the-box embodied skill libraries for different job positions and a comprehensive customization platform covering “voice-actions-expressions-appearance,” using humanoid robots to connect the full-link digital closed loop. The apparel industry solution helps intelligentize and informatize apparel manufacturing, supporting full-process automated operations such as fabric recognition, grasping, alignment and placement, template machine operation, and data collection and analysis.

Sichuan Humanoid Robot Innovation Center

The Sichuan Humanoid Robot Innovation Center is initiated and established by China South Industries Group Automation Research Institute Co., Ltd., 联合全国知名研究机构、高校院所、重点企业. Facing application scenarios such as industrial manufacturing, emergency fire fighting, and community family services, the center gives full play to its important roles in “gathering resources, collaborative innovation, common R&D, achievement transformation, talent cultivation, and public services.” It accelerates the breakthrough of core components and intelligent core algorithms, establishes testing and evaluation methods for core components and complete machine performance, and strives to formulate national/industry standards for humanoid robot basic generality, motion control, performance testing, and simulation testing. It aims to make the overall performance of humanoid robot technology and products reach the international advanced and domestic leading level by 2027, and form a 100-billion-level humanoid robot industry cluster by 2035.

D11 Humanoid Robot

The D11 humanoid robot is a general-purpose humanoid robot for industrial, service, and special applications. Rich sensory interaction combined with a built-in artificial intelligence large model enables intelligent perception, intelligent interaction, and intelligent decision-making. The D12 humanoid robot is a full-size intelligent humanoid robot that can achieve intelligent perception, decision-making, and interaction by accessing artificial intelligence large models, meeting human-like emotional interaction capabilities and operational needs. Both robots are applicable to multiple scenarios such as welcome reception, tour guide explanation, supplementary duty, security patrol, flexible assembly, irregular part sorting, material handling, and appearance inspection, with strong versatility in public security, commercial services, industrial manufacturing, and other fields. They can also perform tasks such as humanoid sentinels and humanoid dangerous disposal soldiers in special fields.

Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center

Officially unveiled on June 4, 2025, in the China Optics Valley Digital Economy Industrial Park, the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center is one of the largest domestic humanoid robot innovation centers with the richest scenarios and the most robot models. The center anchors the development goals of “starting in one year, achieving results in three years, and taking shape in five years.” Following the idea of “application-oriented, adapting to local industries, supply-demand docking, open sharing, online-offline integration, and software-hardware integration,” it focuses on building “three fields and one base”—action training field, data collection field, application practice field, and talent training base. Centering on four functions: concept verification, pilot test services, technology integration, and scenario verification, it forms a “Beidou Seven Stars” innovation ecosystem of “government, industry, academia, research, finance, application, and service,” connecting the entire chain from technology to industrial implementation.

Dongzhi A2 Robot

The Dongzhi A2 robot is a general humanoid robot developed by Dongzhi for interactive services. Adopting ergonomic principles, every detail is closer to the experience of natural human interaction. Equipped with built-in HD cameras and microphone arrays, it can achieve precise face tracking, lip shape detection, and sound source localization, with a recognition rate of over 96% in high-noise environments. It also supports multilingual and Chinese dialect conversations. Its interactive expressions are natural and rich, including more than 20 types such as smile, surprise, and playfulness. It generates real-time human-like natural movements and can walk on various surfaces such as marble, carpets, and wooden floors, as well as in 100,000㎡ dynamic indoor environments. It is suitable for marketing customer service, exhibition hall explanation, business super tour guide, reception desk, business consultation, and other work.

Guangdong Provincial Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center

The Guangdong Provincial Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center was jointly established in December 2023 by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS), together with multiple innovation consortia including Nanshan Venture Capital, Zhuji Dynamics, Leju Robot, Yuntian Lifei, Orbbec, Fengtiao Technology, Dahuan Robot, Xinjingcheng, and Zhaowei Electromechanical. It was officially accredited by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology.

Founded in 2019, AIRS is one of the ten municipal-level basic research institutions established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government relying on The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. As an authoritative research institution for AI in the robot field, AIRS focuses on the research and innovation of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology and is committed to driving industrial upgrading with research results. Adhering to the “company + alliance” operation model, the Guangdong Provincial Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center is dedicated to building a “technology-based service platform for the embodied intelligence robot industry cluster.” It has now gathered 8 core enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the embodied intelligence industry chain. Centering on special application scenarios such as electric power, medical care, and rail transit, it has carried out cooperation with central and local state-owned enterprises and public institutions such as China Merchants Group, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Metro Group Co., Ltd., and the Fifth Institute of Electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It has taken the lead in exploring the layout of robot application demonstration projects in representative areas such as Longgang Dayun Center and Nanshan Xili University Town, focusing on integrating emergency management, venue operation and maintenance, and public services. It aims to strengthen administrative service capabilities and safety incident disposal levels, and enhance people’s sense of happiness. At this expo, the innovation center will join hands with AIRS and cooperative units for a joint exhibition.
