On December 12, 2025, the Conference on Strengthening and Protecting Manufacturing Intellectual Property Chains, a key event under the series of “In-depth Tour” activities for empowering enterprises with scientific and technological achievements, was successfully held at the Western Science City in Chongqing High-tech Zone. With the theme of “Empowering Enterprises with Intellectual Support, Building a Chongqing Driven by New-Quality Productive Forces”, the conference brought together experts, scholars, industry guests and industrial chain representatives. It focused on industries such as electronic information, biomedicine, intelligent equipment, auto parts and new materials, and conducted in-depth discussions on how intellectual property can empower the high-quality development of the manufacturing sector. Relevant officials from the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, as well as representatives from related enterprises and research institutes attended the conference.<\/p>\n

The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology stated that in recent years, Chongqing has focused on the construction goals of the “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system and the “416” scientific and technological innovation layout. It has strengthened chain-style innovation in industrial innovation complexes, promoted collaborative innovation between research institutes and platforms, advanced integrated innovation combining patent navigation with supply-demand matching, and improved the efficiency of intellectual property creation, transformation and services in a coordinated manner. By developing new-quality productive forces in light of local conditions, Chongqing has driven the manufacturing industry towards high-end, intelligent and green development. The holding of this conference has injected new impetus into Chongqing’s efforts to advance the high-quality development of its manufacturing sector. In the new era, Chongqing will promote the comprehensive empowerment of industries, enterprises, scientific and technological innovation, investment promotion and industrial brains through intellectual property, supporting the construction of a national hub of advanced manufacturing and a science and technology innovation center with national influence.<\/p>\n

In recent years, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has steadily advanced the work of strengthening and protecting manufacturing intellectual property chains. First, it has focused on key fields to enhance the capacity for intellectual property layout; second, it has intensified promotion and application to improve the transformation benefits of intellectual property; third, it has supported enterprise innovation to strengthen the effectiveness of intellectual property services; fourth, it has promoted exchanges and cooperation to optimize the intellectual property protection environment. It is expected that through in-depth exchanges and pragmatic cooperation, a new pattern for intellectual property protection and application\u2014one that respects innovation, promotes transformation and supports the sound development of the industrial ecosystem\u2014will be accelerated, providing solid support for building a strong manufacturing nation and a strong cyber nation.
