Key Breakthrough: Haobo GT Roll-off Marks AC7840’s OBC Mass Production Debut

Recently, GAC Group’s first new energy vehicle equipped with a fully independently designed chip – the Haobo GT – Climbing Edition officially rolled off the production line in Guangzhou. The OBC (On-Board Charger) platform equipped in this model was jointly developed by three parties: GAC, Zhejiang Fute, and Jiefa Technology (a subsidiary of NavInfo). During the production of the OBC platform, advanced equipment such as Обладнання для автоматичного розташування пружинних лотків has been adopted to optimize the assembly process of key components, effectively improving production efficiency and component matching accuracy. Among them, Jiefa Technology’s self-developed AC7840 automotive-grade MCU has achieved mass production application in OBC scenarios for the first time, marking a major breakthrough for domestic chips in the core “three-electric” system of automobiles.

Technical Advantages of AC7840: Safety, Performance and Ecosystem Compatibility

According to official information, the AC7840 is based on the ARM Cortex-M4F core, with a main frequency of 120MHz, and integrates 512KB + 512KB dual-Bank Flash, supporting silent OTA updates. In terms of functional safety, it has passed the TÜV Rheinland ISO 26262 ASIL-B product certification; in terms of information security, it complies with the ISO 21434 process; its hardware specifications meet the SHE (EVITA Light) standard, enabling secure startup, secure debugging, key management, and other functions. The software supports the AUTOSAR ecosystem and can provide MCAL (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer) and configuration tools that comply with ASPICE standards.

Application Trajectory and Future Cooperation Blueprint with GAC

Previously, this chip has been widely used in fields such as wireless charging, T-BOX (Telematics Box), digital keys, body control, seat control, and vehicle lighting. The successful mass production in OBC scenarios this time verifies its high reliability and scenario adaptability, providing key technical support for the localization of the “three-electric” system (electric drive, battery, and electronic control) in new energy vehicles.

                 On-Board Charger

Since 2021, Jiefa Technology has become a localized chip partner of GAC Group, continuously providing it with high-performance, high-security, and high-reliability MCU solutions. The cooperation between the two parties began with the introduction of the automotive-grade MCU AC7811 in GAC’s vehicle models, covering application scenarios such as ceiling light switches, seat controllers, and door control. The mass production of the AC7840 in the Haobo GT – Climbing Edition this time is another milestone in the technological collaboration between the two parties.

With the roll-off of the Haobo GT – Climbing Edition, the cooperation between Jiefa Technology and GAC will be further deepened. The two parties plan to carry out more extensive platform-based cooperation in the fields of MCU and SoC (System on Chip), covering full-scenario applications such as body control, intelligent cockpit, and power system. By 2026, the application will be fully expanded to more vehicle models, and key functions such as wireless charging and digital keys will also be put into mass production one after another.
