The 2025 World Robot Expo concluded successfully in Beijing. Achievements of Academic Conferences: Papers from Multiple Countries Compete for Top Awards
The “International Academic Conference on Advanced Robotics and Automation” at the 2025 World Robot Expo received 87 papers from 10 countries including China, France, the United States, and Singapore. After strict review processes such as pre-blind review and on-site defense, the “Best Student Papers” — Detection of Surgical Stages in Endoscopic Lobectomy Based on Deep Learning, Graphene-Based Ultrasensitive Aortic Pressure Sensor — and the “Best Conference Paper” — Detection of Muscle Activation Onset Based on Phase Surface Electromyography (sEMG) were selected. BCI Brain-Controlled Robot Competition: Setting a New Record in Quadruped Robot Control
The BCI Brain-Controlled Robot Competition was held concurrently with the 2025 World Robot Expo, focusing on showcasing innovative technology application scenarios in the field of brain-controlled robots. After intense on-site competition, the 2025 competition record for brain-controlled quadruped robots was set. Zhang Bosi from Xi’an Jiaotong University successfully controlled a quadruped robot to complete tasks such as navigating an 8-shaped track and shaking hands using brain control in 4 minutes and 27 seconds, reaching 85% of the normal manual operation speed. This indicates that brain-computer interface technology has the ability to complete complex path and interaction tasks in real-world scenarios. Wang Tianhong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, awarded a certificate to the record setter.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Roadshow: 10 Outstanding Projects Win “Venture Star”
The carefully curated “2025 ‘Venture Star’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Roadshow Chinese-Style Innovation in Embodied Intelligence Special Event” built an efficient docking platform for “technology-capital-industry”, attracting global high-quality innovative projects to participate.
