Recently, Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Communications and Information Technology, together with Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, has issued the Implementation Plan for Upgrading Sichuan\u2019s “5G + Industrial Internet” 512 Project (2025-2027).<\/p>\n

Network Infrastructure Upgrading Initiative<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Promote the large-scale deployment of industrial 5G virtual\/hybrid private networks and launch pilot projects for industrial 5G independent private networks.<\/p>\n

Support key industrial parks and enterprises in developing integrated network deployment with various technologies.<\/p>\n

Actively advance the construction of the National (Chengdu) New-type Internet Exchange Center and the computing power interconnection platform.<\/p>\n

Technology and Product Upgrading Initiative<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Strengthen technological innovation, accelerate product R&D, and develop a batch of industrial-grade 5G terminal products and solutions featuring “small size, fast deployment, light weight, and high accuracy”.<\/p>\n

Conduct pilot verification, establish a standard system, and promote the standardized development of the industry.<\/p>\n

Integrated Application Upgrading Initiative<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Accelerate the promotion of typical application scenarios of “5G + Industrial Internet”\u2014for example, in Sichuan\u2019s key plastic processing industry (with agglomerations in Chengdu, Deyang, and Mianyang), vigorously promote the integration of Robotic Automation in Plastic Injection Moulding<\/u><\/a><\/span>\u00a0with 5G and industrial Internet technologies. Local enterprises can leverage 5G\u2019s ultra-low latency (\u226410ms) and high reliability (99.999%) to connect injection moulding robots, mould sensors, and cloud management platforms: real-time transmission of core data (such as mould temperature, injection pressure, and robotic arm positioning accuracy) enables remote monitoring of production processes and dynamic parameter optimization. This not only reduces manual intervention in dangerous links (such as high-temperature mould handling) by over 40% but also improves the consistency of plastic part dimensions by 6-9%, effectively solving the pain points of “high defect rates” and “unstable efficiency” in traditional injection moulding production.<\/p>\n

Expand the construction of secondary nodes to cover cities (prefectures), key industrial chains, and key industries.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Build a gradient cultivation system consisting of “scenario filing \u2192 provincial-level 5G factories \u2192 national-level 5G factories”\u2014enterprises that have achieved breakthroughs in Robotic Automation in Plastic Injection Moulding scenarios will be prioritized for inclusion in “scenario filing”, and supported to upgrade to provincial or national 5G factories.<\/p>\n

Support Chengdu in building a pioneering zone for integrated applications of “5G + Industrial Internet” that leads the western region and radiates the whole country.<\/p>\n

Improve security guarantees and upgrade Sichuan\u2019s industrial Internet security technology monitoring system.<\/p>\n

Implement the “chain-network synergy” project to accelerate the large-scale application of the industrial Internet.<\/p>\n

Public Service Upgrading Initiative<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Encourage basic telecommunications enterprises, producer service enterprises, and other entities to jointly establish professional service platforms, and customize transformation implementation plans for industrial enterprises (including solutions for integrating 5G technology with Robotic Automation in Plastic Injection Moulding).<\/p>\n

Strengthen talent cultivation, support the launch of “5G + Industrial Internet” talent training programs (with modules covering smart manufacturing technologies such as injection moulding robot operation and 5G data analysis), and expand the talent pool in this field.<\/p>\n

In the next step, Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Communications and Information Technology will work with Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology and relevant institutions to establish a provincial-level special promotion mechanism for the initiative. This mechanism will facilitate the implementation of key tasks and ensure the effective achievement of the upgraded “5G + Industrial Internet” 512 Project in Sichuan Province.<\/p>\n
