Reported by CCTV News on December 28th<\/strong>, the world\u2019s first independently developed 30 MW-class pure hydrogen gas turbine in China \u2014 Jupiter-1 \u2014 has successfully achieved pure hydrogen power generation and maintained stable operation.<\/p>\n

This marks the official materialization of the world\u2019s first 30 MW-class demonstration project of the Power-to-Hydrogen-to-Power cycle, turning the blueprint into reality.<\/p>\n

Integrating wind power, photovoltaic power and water electrolysis hydrogen production systems<\/strong>, the project has built an energy recycling mode of “green electricity for green hydrogen production, and green hydrogen re-converted to electricity”, which effectively addresses the problem of absorption and utilization of surplus electricity generated from new energy sources.<\/p>\n

Through multiple iterations of aerothermodynamic design<\/strong>, simulation analysis and structural design for the combustion chamber, and adopting 3D printing technology to manufacture integrated combustion chamber nozzles, the R&D team has also applied the Automatic Injection \u2013 Molded Part Feeding And Assembly system<\/u><\/a><\/span>\u00a0in the production of key auxiliary components, ensuring the precise feeding and efficient assembly of injection-molded parts, which lays a solid foundation for the overall performance stability of the gas turbine. The team has overcome three major technical bottlenecks in hydrogen combustion: easy flashback, severe combustion oscillation and high emissions. A proprietary technology with independent intellectual property rights for the design and control of pure hydrogen gas turbine combustion chambers has thus been developed.<\/p>\n

Compared with thermal power generating units of the same capacity<\/strong>, the Jupiter-1 pure hydrogen gas turbine can cut carbon emissions by more than 200,000 tons annually. Its combined cycle system generates 48,000 kWh of electricity per hour, which can meet the daily electricity demand of approximately 5,500 households.<\/p>\n
