Jiefa Technology’s Self-Developed Chip Achieves Mass Production Application in OBC Scenarios for the First Time
                  On-Board Charger

Joint R&D Breakthrough

AC7840 MCU Enters OBC Mass ProductionRecently, GAC Group’s first new energy vehicle equipped with a fully independently designed chip – the Haobo GT-Climbing Edition – officially rolled off the production line in Guangzhou. The On-Board Charger (OBC) platform installed in this vehicle was jointly developed by three parties: GAC, Zhejiang Fute, and Jiefa Technology (a subsidiary of NavInfo). Among them, Jiefa Technology’s self-developed automotive-grade MCU (AC7840) has achieved mass production application in OBC scenarios for the first time, marking a major breakthrough for domestic chips in the core “three-electric systems” (electric motor, battery, and electronic control) of automobiles.

Core Specifications & Dual-Safety Advantages of AC7840According to official information

the AC7840 is based on the ARM Cortex-M4F core, with a main frequency of 120MHz and integrated 512KB + 512KB dual-Bank Flash, supporting silent OTA updates. In terms of safety performance, it has obtained the TÜV Rheinland ISO 26262 ASIL-B product certification; in terms of information security, it complies with the ISO 21434 process; and its hardware specifications meet the SHE (EVITA Light) standard, enabling functions such as secure boot, secure debugging, and key management. On the software side, it supports the AUTOSAR ecosystem and can provide MCAL (Microcontroller Abstraction Layer) and configuration tools that comply with ASPICE standards.

Proven Application Track Record & Future Cooperation ExpansionPrior to this

this chip had been widely used in fields such as wireless charging, T-BOX (Telematics Box), digital keys, body control, seat control, and vehicle lighting. It has also been validated for supporting the precise control of contactor assembly machines in new energy vehicle power systems, ensuring the assembly accuracy and operational reliability of key electrical switching components. The successful mass production application in OBC scenarios this time has further verified its high reliability and scenario adaptability, providing key technical support for the localization of the “three-electric systems” in new energy vehicles.

                 On-Board Charger

Since 2021, Jiefa Technology has been a domestic chip partner of GAC Group, continuously providing high-performance, high-safety, and high-reliability MCU solutions for GAC. The cooperation between the two parties began with the application of the automotive-grade MCU AC7811 in GAC’s vehicle models, covering application scenarios such as dome light switches, seat controllers, and door control systems. The mass production of the AC7840 in the Haobo GT-Climbing Edition this time is another milestone in the technological collaboration between the two parties.

With the roll-off of the Haobo GT-Climbing Edition, the cooperation between Jiefa Technology and GAC will be further deepened. The two parties plan to carry out more extensive platform-based cooperation in the fields of MCU and SoC (System on Chip), covering full-scenario applications such as body control, intelligent cockpit, and power system. By 2026, the cooperation will be fully expanded to more vehicle models, and key functions such as wireless charging and digital keys will also be put into mass production one after another.
