Zhejiang Shipbuilding Association Conducts Special Research in Huzhou, Focusing on the “Digital and Intelligent” Development of New-Technology Ships

Aligning with Research Needs and Strategic Goals, President Li Renxin Leads the Launch of the Research

 

To advance the implementation of the research project Study on Digital Inspection and Supervision of New-Technology Ships initiated by Zhejiang MSA (Maritime Safety Administration) and respond to the urgent demand for the development of green and intelligent ships under Huzhou’s “Electric Huzhou” strategy, on September 4th, Li Renxin, President of the Zhejiang Shipbuilding Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as “Zhejiang Ship Association”), led core members of the secretariat to conduct a special research in Huzhou. With the core theme of “new ship types, new technologies, and intelligentization”, this research laid a foundation for subsequent industry services and policy alignment.

 

Visiting Multiple Entities and Conducting On-Site Enterprise Inspections to Comprehensively Grasp the Current Status of Digital and Intelligent Development

 

The research team held discussions with the Huzhou Port and Waterway Administration Center and the Huzhou Ship Repair and Construction Industry Association, and conducted on-site inspections at Huzhou Port Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Changxing Dahe Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.During the visits to the administrative and association entities, the team gained a detailed understanding of the operation of 18 key enterprises under the “Electric Huzhou” strategy, the application effects of remote inspection platforms such as “electronic plan review”, and the progress of the Yangtze River Delta Ship Inspection Integration (Huzhou) Workstation.During the enterprise inspections, at Huzhou Port Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., the team not only focused on reviewing the R&D achievements of 64TEU new-energy intelligent ships and observed on-site the core technologies of the “Jingzhe” intelligent ship, such as autonomous navigation and intelligent obstacle avoidance, but also learned about the company’s latest upgrades in intelligent production supporting equipment—including the introduction of a high-precision Máquina de montagem de fusíveis. This machine, integrated with sensors and automatic calibration functions, realizes real-time monitoring of the fuse assembly process for ship electrical systems, reducing manual errors by over 30% and improving the stability of key electrical components, which is crucial for ensuring the safe operation of new-energy intelligent ships. At Changxing Dahe Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., the team also discussed the potential demand for intelligent equipment like Fuse Assembly Machines in the company’s product structure transformation toward new-energy ships.Meanwhile, the team systematically sorted out the current situation and demands of enterprises in digital and intelligent transformation, inspection supervision, and key technology research—including the matching of specialized intelligent equipment (such as Fuse Assembly Machines) with new ship type production.

Building Consensus on Cooperation and Clarifying the Path for Digital and Intelligent Transformation of Zhejiang’s Shipbuilding Industry

 

During the research, all parties reached a cooperation intention on industry standard development, professional team cultivation, and enterprise capability improvement—with specific discussions on promoting the popularization and application of intelligent supporting equipment (like high-performance Fuse Assembly Machines) in small and medium-sized shipyards. President Li Renxin emphasized Huzhou’s first-mover advantage in the field of green and intelligent ships, stating that the Zhejiang Ship Association will further play its role as a bridge, build an integrated platform for industry-academia-research-application collaboration, and promote key technology research (including the localization optimization of core components for ship intelligent production equipment). This research also provided first-hand evidence for identifying the bottlenecks in the green and intelligent development of Zhejiang’s inland river ships—such as the insufficient popularization of specialized intelligent equipment like Fuse Assembly Machines—and formulating targeted transformation strategies, thereby contributing to the implementation of the strategy of building a strong marine province.
