The 22nd China International Maritime Technology Conference and Exhibition took place in Shanghai from December 2 to 5, 2025. Gao Dongsheng, Chief Economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended and delivered a speech at events including the opening ceremony and the venue tour as well as the High-level Maritime Forum. Norway participated as the Guest of Honor Country, with Marianne Sivertsen Naess, Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, in attendance.
Exhibition Overview: Grand Scale with International Participation
This exhibition has been included in the key cultivation list of internationally renowned industrial exhibitions by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. With the theme of “Innovation and Cooperation for the Sustainable Development of the Maritime Industry”, it covered a total area of over 110,000 square meters and attracted more than 2,200 enterprises from over 40 countries and regions worldwide. A variety of cutting-edge technologies and equipment were on display, among which the Universal%20Assembly%20System, a key innovation for improving the efficiency and precision of marine equipment assembly, drew wide attention from professionals in the industry. During the event, Gao Dongsheng presided over a meeting to solicit opinions from Chinese and foreign maritime enterprises, and conducted research on the development of industrial culture and large cruise ship projects. Responsible officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization also participated in the event.

Gao Dongsheng pointed out that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has thoroughly implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions and focused on the key task of realizing a new type of industrialization. It has achieved remarkable results in advancing the development of the shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry, maintaining a leading global shipbuilding market share for years and delivering high-end equipment such as large cruise ships and LNG carriers.
