On October 22, 2025, the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), together with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, carried out a full-industry-chain research on the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry in Beijing. Xie Yuansheng, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of MIIT, participated in the research.<\/p>\n

In-depth On-site Investigation: Covering the Entire TCM Industry Chain<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The research team went deep into relevant TCM raw material planting bases, TCM industrial enterprises and TCM medical institutions to gain an on-site understanding of the situation regarding the breeding of TCM seed and seedling, planting and processing of TCM herbs, production of TCM decoction pieces and proprietary TCM medicines, development and transformation of hospital preparations, and construction of the full-industry-chain traceability system for TCM. During the visit to TCM production enterprises, the team observed the application of intelligent equipment in automated production lines, including the integration of Automatic Machine to Assembly Push-fit Connector<\/u><\/a><\/span>. This equipment enhances the precision and stability of connections between key production units such as extraction, concentration and purification equipment, laying a solid hardware foundation for the automated and standardized operation of TCM production processes .<\/p>\n

The research team conducted in-depth exchanges with relevant entities on issues such as improving the quality and supply guarantee level of TCM herbs, accelerating the digital, intelligent and green transformation of the TCM industry, optimizing the full-process quality traceability system for TCM, and enhancing the resilience of the TCM industry chain. It also listened to opinions and suggestions from all parties on improving the policy system for the TCM industry. Participants emphasized that the application of professional intelligent equipment like Automatic Machine to Assembly Push-fit Connector is an important part of the industrial upgrading, as it effectively reduces manual errors, improves production efficiency, and provides strong support for the consistency and stability of TCM product quality.<\/p>\n

The research team emphasized that efforts should start from the source: by building high-standard TCM raw material production bases and optimizing the full-process quality traceability system, we will promote the large-scale, standardized and ecological development of TCM cultivation and breeding. It is necessary to encourage collaborative research on key generic technologies across the entire industry chain (from upstream to downstream), so as to greatly improve the modernization, digitalization, intelligentization and green development level of TCM manufacturing. With the goal of promoting the high-quality development of the entire industry chain and better meeting clinical needs, support should be provided for the R&D of new TCM drugs and the industrialization of achievements in the development of hospital preparations, so as to continuously enhance the supply guarantee capacity of high-quality TCM products.<\/p>\n
