Recently, the lens of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Media Research Tour on New Industrialization” focused on the Micro Excavator Lighthouse Factory of Sany Heavy Machinery in Kunshan. The debut of the E-MOVE all-electric excavation robot marks the entry of construction machinery into an era of fully electric and unmanned operations.

Stepping into the Micro Excavator Lighthouse Factory, the E-MOVE all-electric excavation robot stands out prominently. This revolutionary product introduces fully electric technology, achieving end-to-end pure electric drive. Integrated with artificial intelligence (AI), it enables automated operations and comprehensive remote management and control, creating a new model of safe, intelligent, and convenient management. Through a remote management system combining virtual and real technologies, operators can precisely control equipment to complete complex tasks without physically entering dangerous sites.

This innovation expands the application scenarios of mini excavators to special fields such as emergency rescue—the green attributes of all-electric drive and the safety features of intelligent operation form a dual advantage. It not only reshapes the operational paradigm of construction machinery through technological innovation but also provides efficient and reliable solutions for high-risk scenarios through its “unmanned” breakthrough.

Inside the intelligent factory, a fleet of 5G-AGVs (automated guided vehicles) shuttles orderly between warehouses and production lines. Each AGV is coordinated and precisely dispatched by three major systems—MOM (Manufacturing Operations Management), WMS (Warehouse Management System), and RCS (Robot Control System)—to deliver materials to the production line on time and accurately. The slewing ring assembly island uses visual recognition to identify materials, enabling agile assembly of over 50 models across four major series (SY16 to SY50) of micro excavators on the same production line.

Currently, the factory has achieved “one-unit minimum order” capability, with a customization rate of 75% for mini excavators. When He Pengfei, Deputy General Manager of Sany Heavy Machinery’s Operations Headquarters, opens the global order management system, the screen displays real-time customer demands from South America and Oceania. AI-powered intelligent production scheduling decomposes orders with different configurations into thousands of process points, which are then completed by dozens of flexible production lines. This demonstrates the smart factory’s strong capabilities in flexible manufacturing and customized services.

As 5G-AGVs carry materials to automatic assembly islands, and E-MOVE robots precisely grab crushed stones in mine tunnels, this intelligent factory—hailed as a “digital workshop” by Xinhua News Agency—is redefining the market with 75% customization flexibility and upholding 100% carbon-neutral responsibility.
