Kick-off Meeting for the Series Standards of “Intelligent Manufacturing – Application in the Food Industry – Digital Workshop for Liquid Milk” Held in Beijing

Going forward, the standard compilation team will, based on the opinions of experts and representatives, conduct extensive investigations and studies in enterprises to further revise and improve the standard texts.

On July 30, 2025, the kick-off meeting for four industry standards, including Intelligent Manufacturing – Application in the Food Industry – Construction of Digital Workshops for Liquid Milk – Part 1: General Requirements (project numbers: 2025-0368T-QB, 2025-0369T-QB, 2025-0370T-QB, 2025-0371T-QB), was held in Beijing. The meeting was conducted both online and offline. Guo Hesheng, Vice Chairman of the China Light Industry Enterprise Management Association, and Liu Chao, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Dairy Industry Association, attended and delivered speeches. Over 35 representatives from industry associations, research institutions, leading enterprises, and related technical units participated in the meeting.

The series standards of Intelligent Manufacturing – Application in the Food Industry – Digital Workshop for Liquid Milk are jointly led by the China Light Industry Enterprise Management Association, China Dairy Industry Association, China Light Industry Information Center, and Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd. Currently, due to the lack of relevant national standards and basic industry standards as a basis, enterprises face insufficient guidance in building digital workshops and smart factories. These standards will effectively fill the gap in this field and provide important support for industry development.

In his speech, Secretary-General Liu Chao mentioned that the approval of industry standards is no easy task, requiring multiple expert demonstrations and communication with relevant departments for filing. The approval of the dairy industry’s first standard on Application in the Food Industry – Digital Workshop for Liquid Milk responds to the needs of industry development and fills the gap in relevant industry standards. The formulation of this industry standard holds three significant meanings:

  1. Leading industry upgrading: By standardizing the technical architecture, data standards, and management processes of liquid milk digital workshops, it provides a replicable path for intelligent construction, helping enterprises reduce costs, improve efficiency, enhance quality, and drive innovation.
  2. Ensuring quality and safety: Relying on digital means to achieve full-process traceability of production and risk early warning, it further strengthens the food safety defense line and enhances consumer trust.
  3. Promoting ecological collaboration: Unified standards will break “information silos,” promote in-depth integration between equipment manufacturers, software service providers, and production enterprises, and build an open and win-win intelligent manufacturing ecosystem.

At the kick-off meeting, the compilation team introduced the background of the standard project, the technical content framework, and the implementation plan. Experts from institutions such as the China Light Industry Enterprise Management Association, China Dairy Industry Association, China Light Industry Information Center, National Technical Committee for Food Industry Standardization, National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Institute of Machinery Industry Instrumentation, China Building Materials Industry Planning and Research Institute, School of Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Engineering of Beijing Institute of Technology, and School of Information Engineering of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication put forward professional suggestions on the standard compilation work. Representatives from enterprises including Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd., Inner Mongolia Mengniu Dairy (Group) Co., Ltd., Tetra Pak, Ningbo Lehui International Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., Junlebao Dairy Group Co., Ltd., Beijing Sanyuan Food Co., Ltd., New Hope Dairy Co., Ltd., and Beijing Zhongke Standard Technology Group Co., Ltd. actively participated in discussions, conducted in-depth exchanges on the technical content of the standards, and provided valuable opinions for improving the standard system.
