Global Plastics Powerhouses Join Forces: MAAG Group and SIKORA to Debut at CHINAPLAS 2026
                Global plastics industry

MAAG Group will exhibit at CHINAPLAS 2026 in Shanghai, taking place from April 21 to 24, 2026, at Booth J61, Hall 2.1, showcasing advanced solutions for polymer processing, manufacturing, and pipe production. This marks the first joint appearance in China for MAAG Group and SIKORA since MAAG acquired SIKORA in June 2025. SIKORA is a leading provider of innovative measurement, control, inspection, and sorting technologies.

Ueli Thürig, President of MAAG Group, emphasized:“Our joint exhibition clearly demonstrates our strategic direction. We provide customers with integrated systems for polymer processing and comprehensive quality control solutions. Whether pumps, filters, pelletizing systems, pulverizing, recycling solutions, measurement and control systems for pipe production, or inspection and sorting technology for plastic pellets – our products create significant added value.”

New Generation M² USG Underwater Pelletizing System

MAAG’s new generation M² USG underwater pelletizing system achieves higher process stability, greater output, and better pellet quality through optimized design and enhanced sensor technology. The system is developed to pursue outstanding Overall Equipment Effectiveness (>99% OEE) and stable production processes. Reduced downtime and lower scrap rates effectively cut operating costs and improve productivity. At the core of the system is a newly designed pelletizing head, which is not only easy to operate and maintain but also significantly reduces the risk of potential operating errors.

High-Performance Melt Filters for Recycling Processes

MAAG offers continuous melt filters for plastic recycling, such as the ERF 350.It features a processing capacity of up to 3,800 kg/h and can handle material with contamination levels as high as 16%.Melt flows from outside to inside through a perforated rotating drum. Contaminants such as paper, wood, rubber, or metal adhere to the drum’s outer surface and are continuously removed. The ERF series includes four models covering capacities from 150 to 10,000 kg/h.Four ECO models are also available for applications with low contamination, such as PET production waste.

BAOLI 3 Strand Pelletizer

The BAOLI 3 is a dry-cut strand pelletizer for compounding and recycling.Key components, including the cutting blades and strand inlet unit, are made in Germany.Three machine sizes offer capacities from 20 to 3,450 kg/h, depending on material and application.Key advantages include high pellet quality, long service life, low operating noise, simple operation, and flexible installation to suit different production environments.

PURITY CONCEPT V

Inspection and Analysis for Pellets, Flakes, and Test Samples

SIKORA will present the PURITY CONCEPT V, an offline random sampling inspection and analysis system for pellets, flakes, and test sample plaques.Using optical imaging, the system detects black spots, foreign color particles, or discoloration down to 50 μm.Inspection and analysis are completed in less than one minute, generating a detailed inspection certificate and an HSV color chart for impurity deviation, ensuring product quality and safety.

PURITY SCANNER ADVANCED

Inspection and Sorting System Designed for High-Performance Plastics

As cleanliness requirements for high-quality plastic products continue to rise, quality control becomes increasingly critical. This applies to high-performance plastics such as fluoropolymers (e.g., flame-retardant plastics) and standard materials such as polypropylene (PP).Pure material quality is essential in every application. Impurities not only impair product function but can also cause significant economic losses.

SIKORA’s PURITY SCANNER ADVANCED is a flexibly configurable inspection and sorting system combining high-precision detection with modular technology.Even tiny critical contaminants are reliably detected and automatically rejected. The detection system works in perfect coordination with the ejection system.Different imaging systems are available:

High-resolution optical imaging detects black spots down to 25 μm.

X-ray imaging identifies metal contaminants in pellets.

Another highlight is the combined ejection technology:Users can define acceptable impurity standards. Small, light black spots are removed with small-unit ejection, while critical contaminants such as metal are rejected with large-unit ejection. This intelligent combination minimizes the waste of good material (reduced carry-over ratio), significantly improving economic efficiency and promoting sustainable production.

CENTERWAVE 6000

Wall Thickness and Outer Diameter Measurement for Pipes from 32 to 1,600 mm

SIKORA will also showcase the CENTERWAVE 6000, a measurement system for pipe and hose extrusion lines. It can be installed directly after the first vacuum tank on the line, performing non-contact measurement of pipes with outer diameters from 32 to 1,600 mm.Equipped with continuously rotating transceivers and a high-performance processing system, it uses millimeter-wave technology to accurately measure the entire pipe circumference, delivering outer diameter and wall thickness values.Complete and precise measurements ensure fast centering during extrusion, reducing material consumption and production costs.

X-RAY 6000 PRO

Critical Dimension Measurement for Multi-Layer Products – Precise Minimum Wall Thickness Determination

SIKORA’s X-RAY 6000 PRO is an innovative X-ray-based system that continuously provides wall thickness, eccentricity, and inner/outer diameter measurements during the extrusion of multi-layer pipes and hoses.Measurements are clearly displayed on the ECOCONTROL 6000 data processing unit. The X-RAY 6000 PRO can be installed after the extruder, between vacuum tanks/cooling baths, or at the end of the line for cold-end measurement.Once set up, the system maintains wall thickness at a minimum, saving significant material and costs for users.

Holger Lieder, Managing Director of SIKORA, stated:“At this exhibition, we will use live demonstrations to vividly illustrate how modern measurement technology is the key to automated and sustainable production.”

Through their joint presentation at CHINAPLAS 2026, MAAG Group and SIKORA will demonstrate their comprehensive expertise across the entire value chain of plastics processing.

Ueli Thürig concluded:“Our goal is not only to provide customers with first-class machinery and systems but also to support them as long-term partners with profound process know-how.”
