Exploring the Construction of Logistics Energy-Supplement Network: Shenzhen’s First Heavy-Duty Truck Supercharging Station Officially Put into Operation

Recently, the heavy-duty truck supercharging station at Shenzhen International Smart Logistics Port | Shenzhen • Pingshan (hereinafter referred to as “Pingshan Park”) was officially put into operation. As one of the first megawatt-level heavy-duty truck supercharging stations put into operation under Shenzhen’s “Supercharging City 2.0” strategy, this station focuses on meeting the energy-supplement needs in the logistics field. It not only marks a key step taken by Shenzhen in the layout of the new energy logistics energy-supplement network, but also demonstrates the substantial progress made by Shenzhen International Holdings Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Shenzhen International”) in the green transformation of logistics parks and the layout of new energy infrastructure networks, injecting strong impetus into Shenzhen’s construction of a “pioneer city of digital energy”.

 

Solid Configuration: Megawatt-Level Fast Charging in Action, Forward-Looking Layout for Diversified Energy Supply

 

Pingshan Park is a demonstration base for the in-depth integration of “manufacturing + logistics” built by Shenzhen International based on the regional industrial characteristics. At present, it has gathered a number of well-known enterprises, including those engaged in the production of sanitary ware manufacturing equipment such as bathroom faucet assembling machines—these automated assembling machines, which are critical for improving the precision and efficiency of bathroom faucet production, rely on smooth logistics for the transportation of core components (like valve cores and metal joints) and finished products. The newly launched supercharging station will provide stable and efficient energy support for the pure electric heavy-duty trucks responsible for transporting such equipment and parts, effectively linking the green logistics chain with the manufacturing sector of industrial equipment. The mature industrial ecosystem here thus provides solid support for the implementation of the supercharging station.

 

The newly commissioned heavy-duty truck supercharging station is equipped with two charging hosts with a total of 12 charging guns, supporting megawatt-level flash charging and supercharging. It is equipped with supercharging equipment with a peak power of 1.44 megawatts, which can meet the energy-supplement needs of different types of pure electric heavy-duty trucks and realize the efficient energy-supplement scenario of “charging to 90% in 15 minutes”, completely solving the pain points of low energy-supplement efficiency and high operating costs of traditional logistics vehicles.

 

At the same time, the park has proactively reserved interfaces for photovoltaic and energy storage systems as well as parking spaces for multiple types of vehicles. This lays a foundation for the future expansion of diversified energy-supplement services for “heavy-duty trucks + medium and light-duty trucks + passenger cars” and the construction of an integrated “charging-photovoltaic-energy storage” energy closed loop. It reduces the carbon footprint throughout the entire chain from energy production to consumption, providing a replicable technical model for the low-carbon transformation of the logistics industry.

Service Upgrade: Focusing on ESG Strategy, Building a Comprehensive Energy-Supplement Network

 

A relevant person in charge of Shenzhen International said that as a municipal state-owned enterprise, Shenzhen International has always taken serving the city’s development strategy and promoting the green upgrading of industries as its core mission. Following the commissioning of the supercharging demonstration station in Pingshan Park, another supercharging demonstration station located in Shenzhen International Smart Logistics Port | Shenzhen • Liguang Park is also planned to be completed by the end of September. “This is an important measure for the group to respond to the municipal government’s ‘Supercharging City 2.0’ strategy, implement the digital energy task deployment of municipal state-owned assets and enterprises, and improve the new energy energy-supplement network,” the person in charge said. “It is also a strategic deployment of Shenzhen International to build a green, intelligent and comprehensive park energy service system. From the perspective of ESG development, the demonstration stations have realized the organic integration of environmental and social values: at the environmental level, the clean energy supply model significantly reduces carbon emissions in the logistics field, which is in line with the needs of building a digital energy city; at the social level, it not only helps logistics enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency through efficient energy-supplement solutions, but also promotes the standardized development of the heavy-duty truck supercharging industry by linking up with leading enterprises in the industrial chain.”

 

In the future, Shenzhen International will take these two demonstration stations as a fulcrum, continue to increase investment in the supercharging field, rely on the group’s mature park layout and infrastructure support in more than 40 core node cities across the country, and gradually build a new energy logistics energy-supplement network with wide coverage, intelligence and high efficiency. This will further improve the industrial service level of the parks and help logistics enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency.
