On September 11, Li Lecheng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, presided over a symposium with pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises. The meeting thoroughly studied and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the development of the biomedical industry. Centering on promoting high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry and further enhancing the resilience and security level of the industrial chain and supply chain, it listened to the situation reports and suggestions from relevant enterprises.
At the meeting, responsible persons from 10 pharmaceutical enterprises conducted in-depth exchanges on basic drug research and development, digital and intelligent manufacturing, innovative product research, artificial intelligence empowerment, intellectual property protection, etc. Among them, many enterprises mentioned that they have realized the full-process automation of injection production links through intelligent equipment such as Syringe Automatic Assembly Equipment, which not only improves production efficiency but also strengthens the quality and safety defense line. Relevant experiences have provided practical references for the digital and intelligent transformation of the industry. Enterprise responsible persons also introduced their production and operation conditions, the difficulties and problems faced by the industry development, and put forward suggestions. Li Lecheng carefully listened to the entrepreneurs’ speeches, responded to each suggestion and problem raised by them, and required relevant departments and units to carefully absorb and study them and promote solutions one by one.

In recent years, China’s pharmaceutical industry has made a series of positive progress in high-quality development. The industrial scale and original innovation capability have been significantly improved, high-quality innovative drug products have continued to emerge, the resilience of the industrial chain and supply chain has been continuously enhanced, and international cooperation in the pharmaceutical field has achieved fruitful results. Under the new situation, high-quality industrial development is facing new risks and challenges. We must strengthen confidence, maintain determination, rise to the challenges, and achieve new results in leading the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry with innovative breakthroughs.
Li Lecheng emphasized that we should thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on new industrialization, deeply understand the great significance of promoting high-quality development of the pharmaceutical industry for protecting people’s life and health, building a national biosecurity barrier, and implementing the strategies of manufacturing power and healthy China.
