A Companion Robot Company Founded Just Two Months Ago: Backed by Hillhouse and Zhiyuan Robotics!
         A Companion Robot Company

According to Hillhouse Ventures, Shanghai Chimeng Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “XDreamRobotics”) announced the successful completion of multiple rounds of financing consecutively. Hillhouse Ventures, Zhiyuan Robotics, Houxue Capital and other institutions participated in the investment, with Gaohu Capital serving as the exclusive financial advisor. The funds raised will be mainly used for the product R&D of the XDream series companion robots and team building.

This “newcomer” in the track, established only in September 2025, is committed to creating intelligent agents with a “sense of life”.

Having been founded for merely two months, XDreamRobotics quickly gained the favor of capital, which is inseparable from the support of its strong core team.

XDream has a team that includes cognitive science experts from top global universities and a seasoned robotics hardware team. Its founder has a track record of serial entrepreneurship – a project he launched at the age of 17 was acquired by Oracle. The dual support of technical expertise and industrial experience provides a key guarantee for the practical implementation of the robots.

It is reported that unlike traditional functional robots that feel cold and impersonal, XDream’s first product is compatible with multiple scenarios both indoors and outdoors. It possesses high emotional intelligence and weak language interaction capabilities, enabling it to naturally perceive and understand users’ emotions without the need for complex instructions.

Behind this lies its core technology – the “digital brain” cognitive architecture. Based on the information processing mechanisms of the human brain in perception, memory, and reasoning, XDream has built a “digital brain” cognitive structure. By simulating the architecture of the human brain’s information processing process, this architecture classifies the data received by the robot into the “fast brain/slow brain” hierarchy and sequential memory:

The “fast brain” is responsible for instinctive reactions and real-time feedback;

The “slow brain” undertakes reasoning and trade-off analysis. After integrating the robot’s own personality, emotions, and memory, it generates more human-like behavioral expressions.

At present, XDreamRobotics has completed the closed-loop of its cognitive architecture and finalized the design of the prototype. To lay a solid foundation for mass production, the company has deployed automated loading assembly machines for electronic components in its pilot production line – these machines realize high-precision, high-efficiency automatic loading and assembly of core electronic parts such as sensors, microchips, and interaction modules, ensuring consistent performance of key components while effectively improving production efficiency to meet the upcoming pre-sales and mass production needs. It is expected to launch testing in the first quarter of 2026, and open pre-sales and enter the mass production phase in the third quarter.

Statistics from GrandViewResearch show that the global intelligent companion market scale reached $28.19 billion in 2024, laying a solid foundation for the development of the industry; from 2025 to 2030, this market will expand at a high compound annual growth rate of 30.8%, showing particularly strong growth momentum.

As the core carrier in this track, companion robots are becoming a key driver to capture this growth dividend. They are undergoing an essential transformation from “tool-oriented nature” to “emotional companionship”, with a bright future ahead.
